Vintage Rock 'n Blues -- with a bit of an edge. That's what we do.
We started out as two guys playing open mic nights at a cafe down by the waterfront in Pickering. Very cool cafe called Open Studio Art Cafe. We had just emerged from the break-up of a previous band and were looking for chances to play. We found that, and more, at the cafe.
When the proprietress decided to expand the format to allow for the more accomplished performers to have a night all their own, we put up our hands and won the lottery. Which meant, of course, that we had to expand the duo. We turned to two Pickering veterans, Randy Ball (percussion) and Steve McGann (bass guitar) for our first gig. It went pretty well, as far as we could tell.
Another band that was awarded its own night included a young singer with the voice of an angel (and pretty good guitar chops as well), so, of course, we had to ask her to join our band. Happily, she did (while keeping her other band intact as well). Adding Cyann made all sorts of musical things possible, and that is what we have pursued since then.
Our song list includes the beautiful 3-part harmonies of the Beatles, the down-and-dirty of old blues songs, not to mention highly danceable songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty, The Doobies, the Stones, John Mellencamp, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group, the Rascals, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, the Band, the Everly Brothers, Sam & Dave, Brian Adams, Doris Troy, Martha & the Vandellas, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, the Guess Who, Van Morrison, the Supremes, etc. etc. etc. Oh, and if you click on a title on our song list, you will (with some exceptions) get the back-story to the song. That's always fun -- and sometimes eye-opening.
We play in bars and Legion Halls, even small cafes. We'll play for corporate events (office Christmas parties, e.g.) and community events, weddings and retirement parties.
